Added new candids of Selena out and about in New York City on May 3, 2015. Check them out!
Our girl ranked at this years’ FHM sexiest women alive list. Congratulations!
FHM.com: Over the last few years, Selena Gomez has been walking a well-worn path that’s previously been travelled by the likes of Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, Christina Aguilera and Vanessa Hudgens: first, Selena found mega-fame amongst tweenage girls by starring in a hit Disney Channel show – something called Wizards Of Waverly Place; then, branching out from acting, she kicked off a hugely successful pop career; then came a proper, grown-up scandal – leaked (and probably fake) topless photos; and finally, she demonstrated that she’d left her wholesome Disney days behind her by starring in controversial crime-thriller Spring Breakers.
Et voila! That’s how the super-hot Selena you know and love today was created. So – who’s next to escape Mickey Mouse’s clutches and go rogue…?
Big props go out to Abigail Breslin for taking a stand against cruel critics who have been picking apart photos of Selena Gomez, claiming she’s gained weight.
Earlier this month, photos of Gomez in a bikini while on vacation in Mexico sparked some nasty comments about her physique, and while the 22-year-old didn’t explicitly respond to the haters, she did post a very sexy swimsuit shot on Instagram that she captioned, “I love being happy with me yall #theresmoretolove.”
While Gomez was subtle with her message, Breslin was anything but. On Sunday, the “Little Miss Sunshine” star took to Tumblr to defend Gomez against the “ridiculous” coverage of her appearance:
“All this stuff about Selena Gomez online in her bathing suit is RIDICULOUS. Everyone is always saying how we shouldn’t judge each other, so why are you commenting on a gorgeous, talented and smart young girls body when she’s on the beach having fun with her friends AND SHE LOOKS AMAZING. Aren’t there more important things the world can be reporting on??
How are young girls supposed to grow up normally and not feel bad about themselves and not develop eating disorders if it’s literally national headline news that a THIN girl may or may not have put on a few pounds, and YET still remains THIN?
I think if we all took the time we spend making each other feel bad about ourselves and used it to make each other feel good, the world would be a better place. Oh and also if we taught girls they had more newsworthy qualities than how they fit into a bikini, we’d have a lot more happy girls.
Selena, you look amazing and more importantly look like you’re having fun. Keep rocking those bikinis.
Ok rant over.”
It seems like she covered everything that needed to be said. Well done, Abigail.
Selena Gomez has wished Vanessa Hudgens good luck ahead of her Broadway debut.
The ‘High School Musical’ star has started her run as the lead character in stage show ‘Gigi’ and the ‘Come And Get It’ hitmaker has reached out to tell her “big sissy” to break a leg.
Captioning a photograph of the pair, Selena wrote: “Missing and loving my big sissy @vanessahudgens as she dominates Broadway.
“I remember watching tv and looking up to her, now I’m supporting her from across the country, kind of surreal. -GO CHECK IT OUT NYC. #proudsis #LOVEYOUBEAUTIFULSOUL #gangstahippies, (sic)”
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old beauty previously admitted she was incredibly “nervous” ahead of her audition for the show.
Recalling the audition process, she said: “In a building that’s the epicentre of Broadway auditions, all the possibles were singing their hearts out. Trying so hard. I felt out of place. I was nervous. Terrified.
“I started reading the lines, and it somehow felt right. I did the scene I’d prepared. They asked me to do another, which I hadn’t prepared.
“Not happy, I went into another room and worked on it. They gave me 10 minutes. Recording my voice on my phone, I did my best. Memorised as much as I could. They gave me no notes and a few hours later they called me.”
The Billboard Music Awards — produced by Dick Clark Productions — will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 17, from 8-11 p.m. ET on ABC.
